Which Pulsar Battery Do I Need?

Pulsar uses a few battery types. Check your device before you buy.
  • APS2 2000mAh: removable pack used in the Thermion 2 range.
  • APS3 3200mAh: removable pack used in the Axion Compact, the Merger LRF and the Thermion 2 LRF 60 series.
  • LPS 7i: used in the Telos and Trail 3 LRF ranges.
  • APS5 pack: listed for earlier Axion XQ and XG models.

Chargers

The APS battery charger 79186 suits all APS batteries. The APS charger 79165 suits APS2 and APS3 packs.

How many spare batteries should I carry?

One charged spare covers most nights. If you hunt cold nights, record a lot of video or use Wi-Fi to stream to your phone, the battery drains faster, so a second spare is worth it. Keep spares in an inside pocket in winter, as cold reduces run time.

Which charger do I need?

Match the charger to the battery pack. The 79165 charger takes APS2 and APS3 packs only, so it will not charge APS5 or LPS batteries. Check the battery listed for your device, then pick a charger that suits it. Carrying a charged spare means you can swap packs in the field and keep glassing.
